I had a blast yesterday. We had the biggest #beyblade tournament our state has held yet: 66 entrants! It was a gauntlet of 7 Swiss rounds to cut to a top 16. I went 3-4, didn't make the cut by a long shot, but I had a ton of fun along the way.

Started reading "The Imitation of Christ" today, and already have a quote to share.
"Spreading false reports is imprudent and uncharitable. It causes enmities, hatred, and lost friendships. God does not simply forgive a person guilty of talebearing. To receive God's pardon, the sinner must repair the harm done and reconcile with the person offended. Although it is easy enough to hear things, be slow in speaking about them. Prudence never repeats what is heard about another, whether true or not."
This is the reflection for chapter 4.
California & Colorado Age Verification laws go into affect January 1st. How many companies will fold to those states?
Each time a company folds, it will make it easier for someone to switch to FOSS, or stop using an app entirely. For example: Discord!
Lots of people fled from Discord after the announcement of age verification. They've since postponed it. I think that app is still dangerous.
I've been streaming retro games (Currently Pokemon Red) on authentic equipment, and I'm trying to play each game all the way through since I haven't with most games from my childhood and I have to say this is an absolute blast! I'd highly recommend just playing through old games you've never beaten and beat them as an adult!
My daughter is in Pre-K, and the teacher loves bringing in parents to talk about what they do. So I, of course, talked to 20-some younglings about #gamedesign and made a simple board #game in 5 minutes with them.
We talked about starting with an idea, adding rules, and having fun getting creative. These kids are 4 and 5 years old, so I kept it really simple.
